Does moringa help lower blood sugar in people with diabetes

Does moringa lower blood sugar in people with diabetes? It is a question I get very often as a doctor focusing on helping people change their lifestyle and eating habits. Let me give you the scientifically accurate answer. And then I want to ask you a more important question altogether. Watch the short video below, or read on.

Quiz Time: Does Moringa Help Lower Blood Sugar in People with Diabetes?

Before I give you my answer, let me ask you first. What do you think?

A. Clearly NO
There is no scientific evidence that moringa helps lower blood sugar.

B. Maybe, but limited
Some small studies suggest a modest and inconsistent effect. Current evidence does not support recommending moringa for managing blood sugar in people with diabetes.

C. Clearly YES
Strong scientific evidence shows moringa lowers blood sugar significantly and consistently in people with diabetes.

Is it A, B, or C? Which of these 3 would you choose as the answer to the question?

The Scientifically Accurate Answer

We cannot say clearly no. That would not be correct. There is some scientific data on moringa and blood sugar.

But neither can we say clearly yes. That would also be wrong. The evidence is simply not strong enough to support that claim.

The correct answer is B. Maybe, but limited.

There are some small studies suggesting a modest lowering of blood sugar. But the effect is inconsistent. Some studies show that moringa helps. Other studies show that it does not. And more importantly, current evidence does not support recommending moringa for managing blood sugar in people with diabetes.

That is the honest, scientifically accurate answer.

But Here Is the More Important Question

Can I put it to you that this is not even the most useful question to ask?

From my years of work as a medical doctor coaching people with diabetes in lifestyle and eating habits change, one of the things I always help my patients do is learn to ask the right questions. The more useful questions. The ones that will actually help them lower their blood sugar and improve their health.

So instead of asking "does moringa lower blood sugar?", the more useful question is this:

What lifestyle and eating habits are clearly contributing to my high blood sugar?

Because here is the reality. Your high blood sugar was not caused by not taking moringa. Moringa is not the missing piece. But your lifestyle and eating habits? They are key contributors. In every single person that I coach in lifestyle and eating habits change, 100% of them, or at least close to 100%, still have room for improvement. Many of them, significant room for improvement. Room that is clearly contributing to their high blood sugar.

Where to Focus Your Energy

I want to encourage you not to be distracted by investigating whether there is scientific evidence that moringa helps lower blood sugar. Do not invest your time and energy there.

Instead, focus your energy and attention on tackling the known and clear causes of your high blood sugar. Your lifestyle. Your eating habits. Nobody's lifestyle and eating habits are perfect. There is always room for improvement.

So let us tackle that first. Let us tackle that fully and holistically to the best of our ability. Because to combat diabetes optimally and holistically, you must unlock the full potential of your lifestyle and eating habits as medicine.

Ask the right question. Not "should I take moringa to help lower my blood sugar?" but "what lifestyle and eating habits are clearly contributing to my high blood sugar, and what can I do to tackle and improve them?"

The Takeaway

If you truly want to combat your diabetes optimally and holistically, tackle your lifestyle and eating habits first. That is where the power is. That is where the real leverage is.

And here is something I say to every person with type 2 diabetes. Reversing type 2 diabetes may be possible if lifestyle habits are changed and improved early enough, appropriately, adequately, and sustainably.

So go and learn more. Get help. And most importantly, start now. Start today.

Video Synopsis

In this video, I address the question of whether moringa helps lower blood sugar in people with diabetes. I present a three-option quiz and give the scientifically accurate answer: maybe, but limited. Some small studies suggest a modest and inconsistent effect, and current evidence does not support recommending moringa for blood sugar management in diabetes. I then pivot to the more important question every person with diabetes should be asking: what lifestyle and eating habits are clearly contributing to their high blood sugar? I encourage viewers not to be distracted by investigating supplements like moringa, but instead to focus their energy on tackling the known causes of high blood sugar through lifestyle and eating habits change. I close with my message that reversing type 2 diabetes may be possible if lifestyle habits are changed early enough, and encourage viewers to start now.

Questions such as this is something that I get very often as a doctor focusing on helping people change their lifestyle and eating habits. And if you were to ask me does moringa help lower blood sugar in people with diabetes, my answer would be we cannot say clearly no that there is no scientific evidence that moringa lowers blood sugar. This answer would not be correct. Neither is it clearly yes that there is strong scientific evidence showing that moringa lowers blood sugar significantly consistently in people with diabetes. This answer is also wrong. And to me the best answer, the correct answer, the scientifically accurate answer would be B. Does moringa help lower blood sugar in people with diabetes? The answer would be maybe but limited. There are some small studies suggesting a modest lowering of blood sugar, but the effect is inconsistent. There are some studies that show that moringa helps and there are other studies that show that it doesn't. But more importantly, the takeaway is current evidence does not support recommending moringa for managing blood sugar in people with diabetes.

Can I put it to you that this is not even an important or even useful question to ask? Because from my work as a medical doctor helping people with chronic diseases such as diabetes, training and coaching people in making lifestyle and eating habits changes, one of the things that I always help my patients to do is to learn to ask the right questions. The more useful, the more important questions that will help them with their health goals and including lowering their blood sugar when they have diabetes.

So in this instance the more useful question to ask is what lifestyle and eating habits are clearly contributing to my high blood sugar? Because in every patient, every person that I coach in lifestyle eating habits change, 100% of them or at least close to 100% of them still have room for improvement, many of them significant room for improvement in lifestyle eating habits because they are clearly causing, they are clearly contributing to their high blood sugar.

So can I suggest to you not to be distracted by, not to invest all your time and energy into investigating whether there are scientific evidence that show that moringa help lower blood sugar? Because your high blood sugar was not caused by not taking moringa. Your lifestyle and eating habits are key contributors to your high blood sugar. So can I encourage you to focus your energy, to focus your attention to tackling the known and clear causes of your high blood sugar, which is your lifestyle and eating habits. Nobody's lifestyle eating habits are perfect. There will always be room for improvement. So let's tackle that first. Let's tackle that fully, holistically to the best of our ability. Because to combat diabetes optimally and holistically you must unlock the full potential of your lifestyle and eating habits as medicine.

So instead of asking should I take moringa to help lower my blood sugar, a more useful question to ask would be what lifestyle and eating habits are clearly contributing to my high blood sugar and then make the effort to tackle and improve them.

So my takeaway for you is if you truly want to combat your diabetes optimally and holistically, tackle your lifestyle and eating habits first. I would also want to highlight this to every person with type 2 diabetes as an encouragement. Reversing type 2 diabetes may be possible if lifestyle habits are changed and improved early enough, appropriately, adequately, and sustainably. So go and learn more, get help, and most importantly, start now.
